      run by the amazing emelinda narvaez, a mostly-canine rescue which shows their creatures at the Petco in union square (broadway and 17th street) 5 days a week
    • NYCACC
      new york's biggest shelter, this is the organization that has the animal-control contract with the city of new york. there are great dogs and cats at their 3 adoption locations, open seven days a week. adopt from CACC and you're saving a life.
    • BARK, virginia
      a wonderful dog rescue in virginia, where i adopted one of my dogs. they rescue dogs from kill shelters in the south. also have a INCREDIBLE program that places dogs in prisons, teaches inmates to care for and train dogs, and then adopts them out.
